Calgary Dollars is Calgary’s complementary currency system, started by the Arusha Centre in 1995, that brings together local talents and resources to strengthen our local economy and build community.

 


 

OPEN STREETS CALGARY
Open Streets Calgary brings a collaboration of cycling, arts, & community groups to Calgary events. Open Streets Calgary is strengthening the impact of its collaborators by promoting their initiatives & campaigns.

Grants have been issued by Calgary Dollars (C$) since it began circulating complementary currency in 1996. These grants are designated for social and environmental projects in Calgary.

THE COMMUNITYWISE CENTRE
The Centre is home for over 60 community serving agencies in Calgary, providing affordable working and meeting space while preserving, restoring and maintaining the historical, 100 year old building (The Old Y Building).
