Inspired by this Alice Walker quote, this year’s Jane’s Walk begins at the Higher Ground in Kensington and takes you on an insider’s backyard tour of a community packed with history, creativity, and eco-enthusiasm.

You’ll see green projects including a community garden, a shared garden, a community orchard, businesses accepting Calgary Dollars complementary currency, Calgary Carshare and Car2Go vehicles, a locally-run egg cooperative, bee hive, coyote and owl homes, and low-impact homes.You’ll tour public art and activism including a visit to Calgary’s first pesticide-free park, past climate change protest sites, and the locations of numerous street events.
