Inglewood/Ramsay Farmers’ Market

This month, the Inglewood Ramsay Farmers’ Market seeks funds to help them create a resilient farmers’ market for the community of Inglewood and Ramsay to act as a hub for the residents to learn about local food, support local businesses, and create connections. A small-scale market began in 2012 and in 2013, they hope to expand and reach more members of the local community as well as other residents of Calgary. More details are given in the video.

They are requesting $900 in Calgary Dollars and $800 in Federal Dollars. Funds will go towards marketing (creating painted signs for the market, posters, printing, and getting placed in community newsletters); honorariums for a market coordinator who will also provide permaculture garden tours and organize educational seminars around local food and food security; and honorariums for garden curator services.

You can participate in the selection process by watching this video by the applicants and then voting here (you are welcome to add comments about the project too). Voting will close at midnight on Monday, March 25th.
