CALL FOR RESUMES
CALGARY DOLLARS COORDINATOR
22 hours per week – 18 hrs/week at $29.46/hr (includes 2.5% in C$)
4 hrs/week at $29.46/hr (paid in 100% C$)

Start Date: Monday, December 12th, 2011

One year contract with potential for renewal
CORE COMPETENCIES:

  • Exceptional verbal and written communications skills
  • Strong community development background
  • Experience coordinating events
  • Experience in project development, coordination & evaluation
  • Experience in program accountability measures, outcomes measurement & reporting with FCSS outcome measures would be an asset
  • Proven ability to recruit, motivate and co-ordinate volunteers
  • Competence with the following programs would be an asset: Excel, FCSS FSII database, Survey Monkey, HTML and/or MYSQU
  • Experience with desktop publishing, preferably expertise with In Design (or comparable program)
  • Pro-active self-starter able to work independently with a minimum of supervision
  • Comfortable working within a consensus-based staff collective
  • Awareness of local economic/social issues, and of the role C$ can play in addressing them Understanding of the history, mission and philosophy of Calgary Dollars and the Arusha Centre Knowledge of other complementary currency systems theory and practice
  • Demonstrated commitment to community economic development
  • Vehicle access preferred but not required

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Organize & coordinate monthly C$ Market at Bow Cliff Seniors Centre (BCS)
  • Membership development & coordination, including online listings site administration Community outreach
  • Marketing (promotions, website, mass e-mail, e-news, blog, Facebook, Twitter)
  • Program evaluation, including survey administration & analysis, phone calls, data uploads Funder relationships & reporting
  • Collaboration liaison with BCS
  • Support Take Action Grant program (TAG)
  • Project financial management
  • Coordination/supervision of practicum/summer students & volunteers
  • Arusha Centre staff collective member with shared administrative & operations duties
  • Design & layout of quarterly C$ advertising insert for Fast Forward magazine; ad sales to C$ participating businesses (no cold calls)

Note: This will be the sole paid staff position for the Calgary Dollars Project
